Vassilios Hurmusiadis is a specialist in medically accurate visualisation and simulation of anatomy, physiology and pathology. He has been applying his research and development expertise in the Medical Education and Healthcare Solutions sectors for the past 10 years. He currently acts as R&D consultant and project manager to several companies and research labs, instigating and implementing innovative projects. Previously, Vassilios was Head of R&D at Primal Pictures Ltd, where he played a leading and influential role in the development of globally recognised e-learning products, improved production efficiency, wrote successful grant proposals and managed R&D projects. Prior to joining Primal, he was an academic at Bournemouth University's reputable Media School / National Centre for Computer Animation. There, he designed, managed and helped establish successful digital media courses. While at NCCA, Vassilios also gained a PhD in physically-based computer animation and contributed to the centre's reputation by publishing research and producing award winning computer animations. Vassilios specialises in soft tissue simulation, heartbeat modelling and muscle action. Recent projects he has been involved in include virtual endoscopy, heart function and functional anatomy in sports actions. He enjoys developing his own computer graphics tools, as well as using commercial 3D software such as Houdini and Maya. Through his industrial and academic exposure, Vassilios has developed a proven track record of presentation, communication, teamwork and networking skills at national and international level. |
